World's first underwater sculpture park featuring 75 artworks by Jason deCaires Taylor, accessible by diving, snorkeling, or glass-bottom boat.
Located in Molinere Beauséjour Marine Protected Area, this groundbreaking attraction features the world's first underwater sculpture park created by renowned artist Jason deCaires Taylor. The park showcases 75 remarkable sculptures spread across 800 square meters at depths of 5-8 meters, making them accessible to divers, snorkelers, and glass-bottom boat passengers departing from St. Georges and Grand Anse. Established in 2006 following Hurricane Ivan's devastation, the sculptures serve a dual purpose as both artistic masterpieces and marine conservation tools. Made from pH-neutral cement, these works provide stable platforms for coral growth and marine life proliferation while drawing visitors away from fragile natural reefs. The park has earned recognition as one of National Geographic's 25 Wonders of the World. Notable installations include "Vicissitudes," featuring children holding hands symbolizing unity, and "The Lost Correspondent," depicting changing communications. Recent expansions in 2023 added 27 new artworks including "The Coral Carnival" series. Entrance fees support park rangers who manage tourism and fishing quotas, making this a sustainable eco-tourism destination that combines art, conservation, and underwater adventure.
